Saw the movie for the 1st time
a little bit slow....but a moving movie and great soundtrack.
shareI saw it today for the 1st time myself. It's now one of my all time favorite movies!! I wish I could work at a radio station like this. There'd never be a dull moment. Too bad radio is corporate to the max nowadays :( This needs a new dvd release pronto!!
shareThose kind of stations don't exist anymore, and were a dying breed at the time, the whole point of the movie. But the film does seem to contradict itself, as the DJs and staff are against a change to more commercial practices, but they get all excited about a concert featuring some of the most commercial rock artists of the 1970s: Linda Rondstadt, Jimmy Buffet, etc.

Honest-to-goodness truth: when this movie came out, there were about three radio stations in Chicago that were undergoing format changes. Not too many of them for the better.
