shareIf you're referring to the song that Dugan plays at the beginning of his shift it's probably "Hollywood" by Boz Scaggs. Only the first few bars are heard of the song, no lyrics at all. It didn't make the album. I can remember the song back in '78 and was surprised that it didn't make the top 40 when I looked it up. I heard it enough times to think it was higher than it actually charted.
shareI just watched the scene again and was wondering the name of that song too! The version I have actually plays the first couple of lines as well as the intro. It is odd that it wasn't on the soundtrack.
shareIt's definitely a Boz song, so I'm also gonna go with "Hollywood".

ALL the songs, whether on the soundtrack record or not.
Watching the movie right now. Just re-checked for you guys. I can tell you that it most certainly is "Hollywood" by Boz Scaggs. It's followed with a scene change by "Fly Like an Eagle" (Steve Miller Band).
shareShould have known by the drumming that it was Porcaro, which follow that it was Boz. That may not make sense, but as a HUGE Jeff Porcaro (RIP) fan, I should have known, period. Didn't listen to the LP from whence it came often enough.
Thank you for your assistance! Now I can thoroughly enjoy the movie (which I have since . . it came out). Porcaro plays the title track as well. Other cool trivia - "Poor Poor Pitiful Me", as performed by Linda Ronstadt, was written by the late, overlooked Warren Zevon. As a hold-out who never DID like Diet Coke, this film gets an A for showing us a can of Tab in a girl's hand. To be fair, Diet Coke didn't come out til '83, and this is most definitely a 70s (1978) movie.
Sorry for the ramble . . always happy to learn new stuff - now I've got the movie on, and there goes the scene with "Hollywood"! Camera, action, do it again!
maybe lido by boz scaggs? I just saw the movie and I remember Lido in the movie
shareAll this talk about Boz Skaggs' Hollywood made me go put on the song (couldn't remember it until I played it [haven't heard it in ages]). I have to see this movie now (the last time I saw it, it was broadcast on TV with the inevitable cuts) 20+ years ago. I'm dying to see it again, preferably the uncut version,
