My only complaint, and maybe someone can help me.

I think this film is pretty great, but from the second I put it in to watch, I considered taking it right out. Why? The crummy picture quality. It was a Warner Bros. distributed DVD I believe, so I don't think it's a problem with the DVD. Does anyone else consider it to be very poorly shot, and can someone confirm or deny if the version they watched looks great?

Just watched it on TCM, in high-def, and the quality was excellent. I was actually surprised, as I've seen the film a few times before and encountered the same thing you did.

TCM shows it every so often. Looks terrific.
