I know some complain about the acting in this movie being kind of artificial, but that's actually one of the things I like about it! It's stylish.
And I love some of its lines, because of the sound of the words and also because of the way they are delivered:
"Such a brilliant lack of complication"
"She is just unfamiliar with the married state"
"Chameau!"
...and when Linette ends the sentence with "vulgar drivel"!

I just adore the chemistry between Bette Davis and Maggie Smith, they have some truly wonderful exchanges. I love Davis saying something like "you would have missed the priviledge of working for me" and Smith replying "I could kill her on that score alone". Something su wonderful about seeing such amazing actresses working together
