Which one is worth watching: original or remake?

I liked the remake much better. The special effects were better, the storyline was more concise and interesting, and overall it was just a much more refined movie. The original was good, but you really have to strain to appreciate it by remembering what the state of cinema and zombie movies was at that time period. There have been so many good zombie movies that have built upon dawn of dead and its hard not to compare against them.

They're both worth watching, but I prefer the original. Why not just watch both of them, though?

Dawn of the Dead (78) is the best horror film ever.

Remake.Usually I like older horror movies more but this original DOTD just didn't work. Terrible acting, unlikeable characters (black cop was okay), slow and weak zombies which I couldn't see as a serious threat unless you're totally retarded.It had couple of scenes that I quite liked( swat raid, Roger turning), I liked the gore and I didn't have problem with blue makeup but to me overall it was a boring and cheesy and not scary. Night of the living dead IMO is a better movie and hasn't aged that bad.

if you grew up on horror movies like me and LOVE how the originals were done.... DONT WATCH THE REMAKE!!!!
to me the remake was HORRIBLE!!! its so bad it was funny. its just as bad to me as the nightmare on elm street remake and the thing (w kurt russell)... just leaves a bad taste in your mouth and is an insult to the originals!
