Dario Argento European version..

I'm a big fan of Argento's cut of the movie with the Goblin soundtrack. Anyone know if it's available on blu ray format? I live in the United States so I would need it to be Region 1...

reply

I don't think it's on blu Ray at the moment. I've g or the UK blu Ray collection which is great, but only the normal cut is in hd.

Thank you. I still have my Divimax version on DVD and was looking to upgrade.

The ultimate edition has three versions of the film and is really worth getting! This is from the Amazon.com listing:

"Included in this four-disc set are the "U.S. Theatrical Release" (127 minute, unrated director's cut, with the famous "Goblin" soundtrack in DTS; this is Romero's preferred version), the Dario Argento-edited "European Version" (118 minutes, a faster pace, a few extended scenes, and more "Goblin" music), the "Extended Version" released for the 1978 Cannes Film festival (139 minutes, with additional scenes, more gore, and a music score of library tracks), and a bonus disc of documentaries."

I have not seen this set in blue-ray, though it may exist. Just search for "dawn of the dead ultimate edition" at eBay or Amazon, etc. to find the set.

Yes, the ultimate edition box set is quality. If you want blu Ray the oop UK one is a great print. But now expensivem. It has everything the ultimate box has but the normal cut is in very good hd.

reply

It isn't. Yet.

Dawn of the Dead (78) is the best horror film ever.

I grew up watching this version of the movie. It's on my wishlist for a formal Blu-ray release, hopefully with extras included.
