DVD question (U.K.)

Hopefully someone can help! I have had the 127 min (through Arrow) version for some time and not watched DotD in a long time - However, I have acquired a copy that states it is the full uncut director's cut version at 139 mins (through BMG)... What scenes were cut from the 127 version and are any scenes trimmed/missing from the 139 min version that are in the 127 version?

reply

There is no definitive version within the 3 cuts of the movie.
The shorter director's cut has scenes not in the longer version while the Argento cut has lots of scenes trimmed or re-edited but include extended scenes not present in the other two versions.
It's hard to say what exactly is missing in the director's cut from the long version without a recent watch but if you are a completist, get all 3.

Joe Pilato appears in the director's cut but his scene isn't in the longer version. Someone somewhere is bound to have recut the movie to include everything.

The Arrow Blu ray includes all 3 versions though only the director's cut is in HD, the others are DVDs.
