Was this #1 at the US Box office?
I heard a story that this film held the #1 spot in the US box office until "Alien" took over a few weeks later. Is this true?
I've been trying to find some weekly/weekend box office numbers from this period but haven't found anything. I checked Box office mojo and box office guru. Then again, the release dates tell a different story. It says it was released in NYC on April 20 then LA a couple weeks after that, then nationwide on May 24, the day before the release of "Alien" on May 25. It doesn't add up?
