I emailed the distributer asking them to get the full version out on DVD.. everyone send a mail.. might sway them to do so!!

Thanks for the email address. I will email them right now! Would love them to release the full version on DVD. (I don't want a poor quality bootleg off of Ebay, thank you!)

It works! I e-mailed 20th Century Fox along with many other IMDBers and they finally released "The Other" (Also by Thomas Tryon" on commercial DVD in the fall of 2006. So I know we can get this released also (uncut) if enough of us send the e-mail. So send one today!

I will! I have been waiting/hoping for years that this would get released in full on dvd. I love this movie.

there is a new book at amazon.com called Television Fright Films of the 1970s that talks about this film.

I have a friend who taped The Dark Secret Of Harvest Home off of TNT back in 1992 with commercials, but I am going to edit out the comercials, it is the Full 3 Hour 52 Min. and 40 second version!, but Im not sure wheather to put it on 1 or 2 DVDs!

I am going to a screening of this tonight at a local event called Conjure Cinema; the guy who organizes it claims he has an uncut version on DVD, but I don't know where he got it, I will ask him. I would LOVE to get this movie on DVD, it is so well done. The novel is one of my favorites.

Any news on whether this is coming out soon?

he probably got it off ebay,people were selling it for a while for around 30 bucks.they don't do it anymore though.

I bought an uncut copy on ebay for $60 awhile back. quality wasnt that good but good enough to see the whole movie.
