Uncut v. Cut Version?
What are the main differences between the two? I saw the original back in 1978, but could somebody explain what has been omitted from the VHS version offered today? Thanks!
shareone difference is that the scene where the widow performs a tracheotomy on beth is deleted in the cut version.

The original mini-series was five hours long; the editing "tv movie" VHS cassette version runs two minutes shy of two hours!
It would take less time to detail the things they LEFT IN!!!

The uncut version is four hours not five. That's without commercials.
share...are there three different versions of this? Because I have a three-hour cut. And from what I understand, the version on the VHS is just under two hours (which I believe I also have). And folks are saying that the uncut version is four hours.
So it seems there is a two-hour cut, a three-hour cut, and a four-hour cut then. Strange..
Which cut do you have?

Worthy' whole character and story line are cut out of the edited version as well

shareTotally agree on all u said about Worthy ;) I FINALLY found a 2 DVD set from IOffer with stunningly amazingly the best quality of entire whole mini series I've ever seen! Out of 10 I ttotally give the quality an 8 1/2!!! So amazing after getting SO many other versions that were at best a 4!!
