Pacino's favorite film
I heard him say in an interview with AFI that this is one of his favorites along with singing in the rain...

shareyeah i heard that too...must be pretty good if someone with the accomplishments of al pacino says it's his favorite movie
the greatest trick the devil ever pulled, is convincing the world he didn't exist
I just watched the movie, and in many ways it reminded me of the scenes with Pacino in the Corleone village, when he was courting the young girl. The father of the boy with wooden shoes also reminded me of Robert Deniro's character. Very quiet but strong, and caring for his family.
Then there was the pig getting slaughtered...:)
I'm watching it right now. And not much is happening. I was interested in it because I heard it was Pacino's favourite film. It's strange because Singin' in the Rain is so different to this. Oh well. Maybe in a couple of hours or so there'll be a fantastic climax which makes the rest of the movie worth it.
And I was actually out of the room when the pig was slaughtered, but my mum suggested I don't watch it...
~Formerly known as "eowynmaiar".
well, did you enjoy the climax?
Hey Look! It's Enrico Pallazzo!
I watched this the other day. It was hard going but I really enjoyed quite a bit as well.
The pig slaughter scene was pretty shocking but the goose slaughter nearer the start was quite crazy! First the kids are playing with it and chasing it around the courtyard then the guy grabs it and...wallop! Head gone.
Very interesting film. Glad I watched it.
