At the end of each episode, David usually hitchhikes away because he's afraid McGee will catch him... but isn't he ever afraid that McGee will drive by and see him?

Yeah you make a good point, never really thought about that, but somehow someway he always manages to avoid him, so he probably would have made up an excuse like he did in that ep, broken image, where he had a twin that looked exactly like him.

David usually leaves town before McGee arrives, so he must feel reasonably safe even exposed along the highway, though I agree he is still taking quite a chance(not much choice really...)
