Jeremy Levy (as seen as Aron) , sweetest child actor ever!

God, does anyone remember or even know what has become or happened ever of Jeremy Levy's (=Aron)?? He's got the same age as me. When I had to watch in 1979 HOLOCAUST for me then (& still is so far) it was the most SHOCKING movie I had seen then. Not even me, it shook our shools down, it was the only cinematic film that had thematisized the biggest crime of the century (or of all thymes whatever) then, it was a true shock & helplessly good ror the sake of all our parents, teachers, educutators, all of 'em! Did you know the fact, that the main TV-Stations in Germany refused to broadcast it at that time it came out?

Only this boy's intimate inciriousity & his spirit & live like performance made me bear this true filmof a bear shock to get through... He was the most charming thing I may had seen so far. When he got shot in Part 3, I was criying all night long.

I tried the google, found no information about him, has anyone a helping clue about him? An e-mail whatever, any help is is prettynice of you people around the globe. I am sure I am not his only long-term-hard-fan. Jeremy was born in May 1965.

Kindest Regards, Pat (Switzerland)

I, too, am a Jeremy Levy fan. He's now a professor of physics at University of Pittsburgh.

Thank you, Princess for your information! Do you think he wasn't too keen on old fans though? What would he be saying if we asked him for an autograph? ;-) Pat (Switzerland)

PS: did you ever had the chance to see RICH KIDS, not me, it is not available anywhere on VHS or DVD....

reply

Hi, Pat. I think Jeremy is probably very pleased with his work as a child and as an adult. I'm sure he appreciates his fans. You can find more information about Jeremy at the University of Pittsburgh http://epsilon.phyast.pitt.edu/

"Rich Kids" is a great film. I've seen it many times and also read the paperback novelization that accompanied the film's premiere. You can order a used VHS copy of "Rich Kids" at Amazon.com (US), though I don't know if it's compatible with European players.

Dear Princess, must have been telepathy, I just thought of you! and really... your nice answer isn't older than 4 hours, groovy indeed! Thank you for the address & lines!

How do you know all this? Are you a personal friend, a relative or a fan as me? In over 53-millions of "costumers" at IMDb, only you & me are the ones who remeber Jeremy, how cool! Thank you anyhow mucha! Pat

Hi, Pat. I saw "Holocaust" at a crucial time in my development (early adolescence), and Jeremy's performance (and appearance) had a profound impact on me. I suppose I was in love with him and my attraction was some sort of sexual and artistic awakening. It was all very innocent, though.

Did you really correspond with David Bennent?! That's amazing!

reply

Dear Princess,

Thank you for answering so frankly. I do very much appreciate it & like to give you an equally profound answer

What you describe is exactly the same way I felt then back in '79. Jeremy was born May '65, me June '65. He had the same impact on me. "HOLOCAUST" I think was so strong in the dramaturgial aspect that, within the odyssey, you started to love certain characters & suffered therefore with 'em altough you knew the ending coming as sure as the Amen in the church. The movie contained so much hope. It was also so strong, at the end as the NAZIs were punished, you didn't even fell a real reparation, I just fell empty, it was just a field of ruines left over to me. Beside Jeremy, Tovah Feldshuh gave me a similair struggling feeling then. And the fact it was a continuing movie made that even more pulsating. Feelings of amourousity & devotion were a consequence & helped to not or never forget the picture (never in the case of us).

Back to Jeremy: I was a "mixed-up"-teenager then (and still kept the ability of concern, empathy & sympathy - God thanks!). Allthough my parents were "left-winged" 1968ers, they were very harsh against anything concerning homosexual feelings, especially with their kids. I therefore (& among other reasons) eventually had to break up any contact with 'em 3 years ago. Jeremy in this ghetto-situation with that wild approach of opposition was a an alter-to me. And that he was so charming & sweet forced that for good! I think it is a big crime being parents to deny what your own child is. It was a fact to me I discovered the punk-music later... ;-)

David Bennent had a similair approach to me then with his wide eyes open staring from the posters in town. My parents did forbid me to see the movies, so I collected all about him & the movie, and the papers were full with it. So I just wrote to him & he wrote ca. 5 little letters in french... They're in box somewhere in my cellar. I was astaunished that no-one on IMBd showed interest! But whatsoever I think I'll delete this message anyhow soon...

I'm still fan of certain young male actors nowadays, I like the Germans Tom Schilling, Max Riemelt & Robert Stadlober in the new german movies. Do you know any of them?

Well, that's it for now.... If you like to write to me privatly, my E-mail is ....., but I have no problem using this forum for correspondence with you... keep it groovy, pat
