Some parts were hilarious

Like the acting "skills" of the Weiss daughter who got sent to the looney bin and gassed and the way people fell flopped over when shot even though no bullet holes appeared in them. I laughed my head off at those bits - helped relieve the tension!

don't feed the trolls...if this guy actually laughs at Holocaust movies, the world has no hope...fortunately, we know them to be trolls who need attention because they are usually fat, friendless generally very unsuccessful human beings.

The miniseries IMO is inferior to the novel. Parts are hokey and dated, including bad special effects and obvious budget limitations, and some really uneven acting, with Joseph Bottoms as Rudi and Blanche Baker as Anna unable to act their ways out of paper bags and really lessening the effectiveness of their storylines.

Michael Moriarty is really the one who completely fits my image of the character from the book.

Timothy Bottoms (Joseph's Brother) had the acting chops.
