Am I the only one who didn't think Meryl Streep was that good in this? I felt she was the weaker link out of all the main characters. Anyway, I agree with all of you on here. MM stole the show. He freaked me out from beginning to end.

There were moments when I thought the actors had spontaneously forgotten where they were, but overall the acting was pretty good for 1978. Meryl Streep definitely has good and bad moments, but her performance is a standout of the series, alongside Michael Moriarty and Blanche Baker, all of whom won Emmys.

I just read the article above...I don't think Meryl did a bad job in fact she was spot on...but as Rosemary describes...they may have just got caught up in the role...they filmed the miniseries in Vienna and Berlin so it was still pretty fresh from after the war back when this was made
