But boss, I do not understand. How could the first seasons be so good, only to be ruined after Mr. Roake apparently gains magical powers? It makes me sick what they did to this show, after the episode starring Bob Denver and claymation dinosaurs this show was ruined for me.
The best one is where Tattoo gets his fantasy of women obsessing over him and then he is mistaken for a God of the natives. Good stuff

shareI remember having a long and heated discussion with a group of friends in the 80s about Roake being magical. Some thought he was suppose to be Merlin. Some though he was an angel or demi-God sent down to teach moral lessons. I don't know what I think but he always seemed to be a mind reader and able to change reality at a whim. And where was that bimbo blonde assistant from? She had no clue, so I thought she was suppose to not even be human - seriously. It was like she was just 'created' out of thin air, she was so clueless.
