Way different than the way I saw it when I was a kid.

As a kid I loved this show on Saturday night at 9:00 on ABC. It followed Love Boat which I wasnt as big of a fan as I was only about 8 years old. I was just amazed that you could go to this island and have your wishes come true. Now as an adult I see so much that I missed the first time; especially when it comes to Mr Roarke.

He is more creepy than I remember back then. Always doing the squinting of the eyes thing even when talking to Tattoo about things.

He's also built funny in the chest. Large around the rib cage but it doesnt look like fat, just oddly built. In an episode about a trapeze artist he too is in a trapeze suit ( I know thats not what its called I cant think of the name of it) and thats where the oddness really showed best, still I notice it in his white suit that he looks funny around the rib cage area.

Another thing: people fall in love over the weekend and suddenly tell each other they love one another on the last day there and then they always end up riding home on the plane together. A little ridiculous considering they have only known each other for the weekend.

The scene right after Roarke says "smiles, smiles everyone" and the music and hula girls begin. Thats the same scene each episode, they have just cut to it and re-use it in each episode.

I also notice that Tattoo is the only one not drinking when Roarke toasts his guests who all have a drink in their hands too.

The same guest stars over and over again. I've seen Ken Berry a bizillion times. Barbi Benton, Mary Ann Mobley, Dack Rambo, Robert Goulet, 2 of the three Brady Bunch girls several times, and others that I know by face only. It seems like they just recycle the same guest stars. I would have thought they would have had their pick of stars on this show considering it was such a hit show.

I never noticed until now that there is always one happy, light-hearted,fantasy and then the other fantasy is always dark.

Towards the end of the show the fantasy's just got stupid. The earlier episodes were better. Roarke's back and forth with Tattoo were cheesy yet "fun". The departure of Tattoo's character to me is missed. I never liked the girl that replaced him.

Can't stand Ken Berry, he tries to be funny, but it fails miserably. The worst though is Carol Lynley, who stars in about half the episodes.

If you've ever seen The Wrath of Khan you can see that Ricardo worked out with weights.

No! That's not true at all, Elvis takes 50% of everything I earn!
