missy gold in a scary episode
Was this a real episode or did my little kid mind make it up? It was the scariest thing ever! I think she turned into a black panther or something and was possessed by the devil?

shareYes, this really aired! I put it on cassette tape eons ago and I'm glad I did, because it's never aired again since. It was a stand-alone half-hour episode called "Possessed" and it aired 11/22/1980. Missy played a little girl named Stephanie who was being possessed by an evil Maori god called Karakia. Megwa (France Nuyen), Stephanie's Maori "nanny", was something like Karakia's minion and was the one that turned into a black panther, in one of several attempts to kill Stephanie's mother.
I wish Sony would get moving and start putting out seasons 2-7 on DVD, because I'm dying to see this one again. It isn't in the syndicated-rerun packages because it was only 30 minutes long, and it would be fabulous to have it on DVD.
Nice to know that others remember this as well. Like the first poster, I thought this episode was all in my imagination. Whenever I asked people about it they used to try and persuade me that I'd seen Cat People. I would love to see this episode again, and own it on DVD.
Duct tape, two hours in a morgue drawer, don't piss off the janitor. End of story.
Is this show in syndicated reruns now? If so, can you please tell me when and what channel? Thanks!
shareIt's on COZI TV, but "Possessed" was originally a special "supplement", and the re-runs don't air this special segment. Loni Anderson and Gary Burghoff are the big guest stars for the other 2 stories, but those stories are boring.
shareOh, yeah, I remember this! I also think this is the scariest episode Fantasy Island ever did. Remember how the evil nanny had that black umbrella that she used to keep the sun off of the little girl? Creepy!
shareI never saw this, but I wanna!
I`m sorry for my lack of manners, but I`m not used to escorting men.
Wow. I remember this episode and it creeped me out as a kid. Didn't the devil (possessing Missy Gold) address Mr. Roarke as simply "Roarke". LOL
shareI have to try to catch that one! Would love to see it. I met her once, along with her sister, Tracey, and they were both absolutely lovely. I was a teenager, they were very kind, and it made a huge impression on me.
