Did he sing at all in the show?

Although Paul Williams guest starred on Fantasy Island 3 times, he did not actually sing on any of the episodes. In Season 6, Episode 3
Legends/The Perfect Gentleman (30 Oct. 1982) he appears as a Rock Star who witnesses a murder and goes undercover. He does not sing in that episode.

Now, he also appeared on Love Boat numerous times. He did sing on the Love Boat and wrote the lyrics to the opening theme... :)

Thank you! My mother swears she heard Paul Williams sing a beautiful love song in FI and really wants to know the name of the song... Now I know why nothing ws coming up I my searching :)

must have been the love boat,.they played back to back on saturday nights
