When can we see Fantasy Island reruns in the US!

I would love to flip on the TV one night and find reruns of Fantasy Island playing. The Love Boat too for that matter! Does anyone know why they don't air reruns in the US? Is there anyone I could write to request it? Thanks!

reply

bnb-8 I couldn't agree more!!! It would be awesome of both shows would air as reruns. The 2 best networks to write to would probably be Nick at Night or TV Land.

If you have OnDemand through your cable company, they have stored episodes of Fantasy Island on there along with shows like Different Strokes, Facts of Life, Who's The Boss, What's Happening, etc.

I would suggest Antenna TV (they air most of the Screen Gems/Sony shows) or Me TV (airs shows released by CBS DVD)

reply

It would be great if MeTV ran Love Boat and Fantasy Island on Saturday evenings instead of that Svengoolie crap. I tried watching that one time and never laughed once at the absolutely awful jokes. Can't understand why anyone would want to watch it. Leave it in Chicago where it belongs.

Your wish is partially granted...

FANTASY ISLAND and THE LOVE BOAT are being shown on over-the-air TV network COZI TV in many areas, but as one episode per weekday.
(That is true in the Dallas/Ft. Worth (Texas, USA) metroplex area at least. The broadcast is on digital channel 5.2 and covers most of four counties.)

I don't know of any channels, but you can watch select episodes of it (among many other shows) online using Joost. (www.Joost.com)

I have Comcast cable TV here in Massachusetts. If you go to onDemand, and then hit "Television Entertainment" and choose "Tube Time", you will see a link to Fantasy Island. They have 10-12 episodes you can watch. I looked for Fantasy Island for years on TV and am sooo happy I found it. I'm watching an episode right now! Wuh-hoo!! Smile everyone, smile!

reply

Thank you,Comcast in chicago has it also.

reply

Which onDemand? There are several onDemand channels that Comcast has.

reply

It's in the ondemand menu.

reply

We get it on Comcast Channel 55 KTBU in Houston Monday thru Friday at 2pm

reply

Fantasy Island is being shown on Fridays on Universal HD.

Comcast has reruns under "Tune Town" On Demand. It's awesome!!

reply

comcast has it on on demand channel 1, go to tv entertainment, then click on the right side on tube time, there are several old series from that era, including fantasy island.

Hulu.com has 18 episodes from seasons 1-3 available.

Smiles, everyone, smiles!

In regard to the episodes on Hulu, are these uncut or edited for syndication? It seems to me they'd simply take the first season from the DVD, but I'd love to know the state of the other full episodes.

Sure wish Sony would get the other seasons on DVD, but Wikipedia says this is uncertain because the first-season DVD didn't sell well. If you read this, PLEASE go out and get the DVD if you haven't already! Maybe that would nudge Sony into preparing season 2 for DVD release!

reply

I think you are better off purchasing DVD's because networks like TV Land would just chop the show up and insert a ton of ads.

I agree. I hate it when the shows is edited. But as far as I know only the first season is on DVD. I don't think it's worth the money to buy just that one DVD.

I'm hoping the entire series will be released as a box set, even if it's in blu-ray.

It'd be nice to relive your teenage years, television wise.

What we need is a commercial free retro channel (similar to PBS), that shows television shows in tact, the way the episode was originally broadcast.

And there should be a director's version of these shows (if it was possible) complete with bloopers, and goofs and outtakes...warts and all.

They are on Netflix as of today. (Tues. June 25th, 2013)
