What Does Baltar Do All Day?

I'm a fan of the old series, but does anyone ever wonder what Baltar does all day? He just sits all day on his elevated throne and waits for Lucifer to personally bring him messages.

Baltar has no other human being to talk to, especially a female companion. What does he do for entertainment besides plot against Adama?

I like to think that room he's in, is some kind of 3D holographic imaging chamber. He can conjure up any environment, any scenario, as he pleases. Sort of like a holodeck, like in Star Trek, just not as interactive.

An unseen harem put together for him from unlucky survivors left behind? Seriously though one trick the series really missed was Baltar's mental state. Being surrounded by Cylons would drive him insane- no non verbal signals of any kind. No real interaction. He's going to be a loon in weeks

Sounds exactly like this forum and its posters..

Well, he did have the IL series Cylons to talk to such as Lucifer. But he did have to wonder as time went on when the Cylons would double cross him. One flaw in the movie for me was the supposed gift of Baltar's home world in exchange for his cooperation. I'd rather he had a more believable motivation but I am not sure of what that would be. Maybe feeling that the council of 12 betrayed him in his mind. They should have given him a sexy consort even if that went against the Cylons' principle of not aiding the human's in the least. They should not feel threatened in the least as they felt they had the upper hand in this matter. Anyways, the brief appearance of John Colicos in most of the episodes was a highlight for me while watching in first run back during the 1970's. A man who was always satisfied that he had work as an actor.

Maybe he sings show tunes. The sound in there might be similar to an echo chamber, sound waves bouncing around.

Or he watches by then ancient Star Trek episodes.

Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night.

Why would he need any humans or women to talk to?

He's clearly asexual and has found a way to nourish his body with pure energy he can get from the machines, so he has no 'bodily needs' per se, not even need to sleep.

He basically sits on his throne and looks evil with lighting that comes from below, and laughs a lot while conducting a neverending Turing's test, while planning the destruction of all life in the Universe. What more could he want?
