Anybody know if a soundtrack for this tv show was ever released (maybe on vinyl lp?), including the theme song from the first episode and the incidental background music during the show?

I don't know, but the notion has merit. Music's one of the strong points of the show. It's worth noting that there were three different scores: one for the movie-length pilot, one for the season 1 shows, and one for the season 2 shows.
shareGood point. I think the music in the spiderman tv series is far superior to "superhero" music on the big screen. All the bad rock songs and overblown choirs that seem to be the only soundtrack these days in superhero movies just flat out stinks.
