Villains

To bad this show had a crumb budget. They could've shown so many of Spidey's foes, such as:

1) Chameleon

2) Vulture

3) Dr. Octopus

4) Lizard

5) Electro

6) Shocker

7) Rhino

8) Green Goblin

9) Kraven the Hunter

10) Mysterio

11) Kingpin

12) Jackal

13) Scorpion

And let's not forget guest heroes:

Daredevil
The Punisher

nor did carnage, they are both newer ones, not original comic villians

Carnage and Venom weren't even in the comics yet when this show aired....

Since so much of the limited FX money had to go to the star character, the producers were scared to adapt any of the great villains from the Spider-Man comicbooks. As a compromise, the Kingpin - Spidey's best enemy with no super power (i.e. no special abilities from physiology and/or an outfit) - could have been used, preferably as a reoccurring threat.

In fact, Kingpin did appear, but not in the Spiderman series. He starred in The Trial Of The Incredible Hulk (1989), the second of those Hulk reunion movies and the one with Daredevil. Unfortunately, there was no final confrontation between Daredevil, Hulk and Kingpin who was played by John Rhys Davies.
