no excuse not to have DVD set yet

Marvel/Disney owns the character rights, now the DVD rights have to be established. I hope they can be squared away so that a DVD set can appear for the Generation X fans.

Well...that's the excuse. You just said it. It's a rights issue.

Yep it's crazy that I have an "Incredible Hulk" box set as big as my head yet the companies could never get their rights-stuff together to print out a 14-episode dvd of TASM! Same with the Adam West "Batman", just think of the money they've lost over the years.

TASM TV series can be "found" on dvd if you must, I just downloaded them all off of Youtube. I may be as old as Stan Lee if I waited for them to release it officially. Heck I just want to watch one more time what i saw as a kid.

That's the problem... Stan Lee "hated" this series.... And marvel may not even be bothered about our releasing on DVD

reply

I'm sure Stan Lee probably did hate it. However, I am equally sure that there are some fans of superheroes or 70s nostalgia (or both) who would buy the DVD if it was released.

I listened to a podcast interview with Nicholas Hammond a while back, and he mentioned that there were murky issues with the estate of Charles Fries (whose company produced the series) which were a factor (though not the only factor) in holding up a DVD release. I'm sure we'll get it eventually, at least on streaming.
