What is Bakshi's obsession with rabbis (the jewish elves scene)?

This is about the jewish-elves scene.

I don't remember how it was in American Pop, but in Fritz The Cat and in Wizards there are scenes, where rabbis are portrayed and made fun of. I got it in Fritz The Cat, where there is made fun of every archetype and even not-so-archetype characters. But why in this movie? The scene was amusing but seemed totally out-of-place for this movie. Was it because of the Nazi theme that he wanted to add at least one scene with jews?

please add your thoughts. Also please say, if you think I'm on the right or wrong track with my thoughts and if you know similarities of other Bakshi films.

EDIT: just saw on his page that he is from Palastine. That might be the answer on my question.

He did grow up in Brooklyn, where there are a lot of Jews.
