Anchor Bay DVD question

Need to pick this dvd up now I have read a review about the other version and everyone says that it is not that good, anyone with the Anchor Bay version please let me know how the picture is and sound etc also the Anchor Bay's runtime is 106 min what was cut out thanks

reply

Picture quality is great, as is the sound. There are no cuts whatsoever.

reply

Nice guess Ill grab it then thanks for the info.

No probs. Although you might find you'll have a job on your hands tracking one down (for a price that isn't outrageous).

reply

Go to amazon marketplace. I just got a great used copy for abt $20 including shipping.

The AB disc has an audio commentary by the director and editor. It's a pretty solid non-anamorphic transfer and runs 1.46.32. I don't know about the Hen's Tooth disc but i would be suprised if it was superior.

reply

The Hen's Tooth is exactly the same transfer as the AB and has the same commentary track.

The dvd cover of The Hen's Tooth is much better. The Hen's Tooth one is the one to get, and probably much cheaper than a OOP version.

Maybe this information wasn't here when you posted your comment, but the IMDB page for this movie shows the run time as "98 min | 108 min (unrated)".

Interestingly, I just rented "Alice, Sweet Alice" from Netflix. It is the Hen's Tooth Video release, and it is 106:27 long. Now I wonder if a minute or so was cut from it?

Certainly the uncut version would be preferred.
