Blu-ray release?

God, I'd LOVE a proper Blu-ray release of this film. I don't believe anyone has released it since Anchor Bay did in 1999, aside from the Hen's Tooth DVD which I think was a direct port from the AB release. I still clutch onto my Anchor Bay DVD for dear life; I remember paying 40 bucks for it on eBay back when it was a hot collector's item among horror DVD collectors, though the price on it has now waned. I messaged Synapse Films about considering the film, but who knows what they'll say. They seem like the right company for it, and it'd be a dream come true. Anyone know who owns the rights?

I got the Hen's Tooth DVD brand new at FYE for $20 just a couple weeks ago. I finally got around to buying a Blu-Ray player of my own just yesterday with some Christmas money I was given so I can actually watch the Blu-Ray if they release one now. I know I should've gotten one a few years ago, but I was slow to make the transition from VHS to DVD as well. I just take long to adjust to change.

I didn't transition to Blu-ray until the summer of last year either. I pared down a lot of my DVDs and upgraded them to Blu-rays, but kept my unique or out-of-print DVD titles. I've clung to the Anchor Bay DVD of this film for dear life, and am hoping it eventually makes it to Blu-ray— it deserves it. I'm trying to not buy anymore movies as I'm going to be moving to the other side of the country for grad school this fall, but some titles I just can't help myself.

I have 10-12 Blu-Rays now since my last post. I get Blu-Ray if I can but I'm fine with DVD as well. It all depends on price and availability. But yes, now that I'm starting to get used to seeing Blu-Ray quality it would be great to see how this film looks. I still enjoy it on DVD but it's a little bit fuzzy so a Blu-Ray release would help.

Yeah, the transfer was actually ported over from a laserdisc from the early '90s, so the DVD quality is not that great. It's fine enough, though I'd love to see a restored version of the film.

Happy to see the TCM showing is HD. It will be kept on the DVR as long as possible.
