Never understood Elliot's line asking Paula "any buttered toast?" the morning after the roof party. Was there a some other dialog that was cut that gave this line some meaning?

I watched this again ( for the umpteenth time!) today, and wondered the same thing!?

Elliot was most likely referring to breakfast for the "morning after."
