There are reported rumors that a remake is scheduled. Jim Carrey (The Mask, Bruce Almighty) will star in the George Segal role and the remake is to be directed by Mr. Barry Sonnenfeld (MIB [both], The Addams Family [& it's sequel], Get Shorty).

It will star Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz. That's about all I know.
