Subtext

I watched this on a cheap DVD for a giggle the other day. Did anyone else pick up the sexual subtext? For example, Dick and Jane romping in the bedroom, obviously having just robbed someone, commenting on Dick's 'gun'; Jane in an aroused voice on how 'warm' the money is as Dick stuffs it down her dress.

There's plenty of subtext in this film where the gun and cash are the aphrodisiac. There's also the scene where Dick still has the gun in his crotch when he lies on top of Jane. There's also that title ...

Yes, that's a funny scene.

My impression was that you had to ask the pharmacist for condoms in the '70s and even into the '80s, and that most places wouldn't sell them to minors. It seems they didn't become widely available in the general racks of drug stores, grocery stores and the like until the mid- to late '80s. Can anyone confirm this who is old enough to remember condom sales in the '70s and '80s?

That was a very funny scene. As previously mentioned, Dick (with a gun in his pants) lies on top of Jane and she's like, "Oww, I think it may be ruined for life," or words to that effect.

How 'bout when Jane is getting loaded up with cash at the end, by the safe, and moans, "I need more" then goes, "it feels so good" like she's in sexual ecstasy. Also, earlier, when they're outside the hotel and, apros pos of very little (a comment about nylons?) she starts taking her pants off before Dick stops her. I was intrigued as a kid watching this on TV at how she seemed sort of "overheated" for some reason that didn't seem to be part of the script proper, just subtext. Or not.

Nilbog! It's goblin spelled backwards! This is their kingdom!

When Dick had the gun in his pants.
Jane told him "You don't want to go in and rob the store Half-Cocked."
