Newspapers Create A Lot Of Waste

I think that a law should be introduced to disallow newspapers from publishing on two consecutive days. Newspapers create a lot of waste. Television, radio and computers provide essential information and entertainment.

While I agree that newspapers waste a lot of trees to put out there product, I would like to tell you that your Television, Radio and Computer news would have practically no content with the journalists at newspapers. They all steal most of their ideas/stories from the paper. And with the shrinking of newspapers you are going to see a lot less in depth reporting of issues.

You were right.

Obviously, they can't make any law that would disallow newspapers from publishing on two consecutive days, but I agree that there's a lot of waste. Of course, there's a lot of waste with junk mail and advertising circulars. For most people, it goes straight from their mailbox into the garbage can.

I hardly even buy a newspaper anymore, unless I know I'm going to be sitting in a doctor's waiting room or something like that.

Most of the paper they use is for advertising, because they're trying to keep the newsstand price relatively cheap. If you took out the advertising of the average paper and left nothing but news stories, it would be rather thin and wouldn't use much paper at all.

If they did that then a LOT of people would be out of work. I worked for a newspaper for a couple years in circulation and there's no way I would have financially survived if I worked every other day. Not to mention our carriers, they made less money than we did.

Besides, ever hear of recycling? Newspapers have big recycle bins that they use both for the office as well as carriers.

I don't waste a single page; I sell a lot on Ebay, and all of the old newspapers serve as packaging material.
