does anybody know why Jean(who played George) and George(Ned Nickerson)were not in seasons 2 and 3? I really liked the two characters and was highly disappointed when they weren't in the rest of the series. They really added something unique and special to it I thought.

Just before the second season of The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries the show went throught script changes and cast changes. Nobody really knows why Jean Rasey and George O'Hanlon Jr. weren't in the second season and then to pop up in guest spots recast with Rick Springfield and Susan Buckner. It could have been that ABC already knew that they were going to get rid of Nancy Drew altogeather and didn't think they needed to hold on to the rest of the cast.
One other reason is that The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries went on the road during it's second season and so none of the secondary characters really needed to come along for the ride.
