The second season of Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew wasn't like the first where they rotated from the Hardy Boys to Nancy each week. A lot of the season 2 episodes where you saw Nancy were episodes where she was working with the Hardy Boys. That was the reason that Pamela Sue Martin quit. She didn't like that they were cutting back on her character and only letting her work as a sidekick to the Hardy Boys. That's why they hired a new girl to play Nancy for the rest of season 2, then dropped the Nancy Drew character altogether for season 3.

They changed so much of the Nancy Drew shows, a new George, and less of her, a new Ned (not that I minded that so much because life is always better with more Rick Springfield), and Ned was also changed from a long-time friend to an almost perfect stranger.
Poor Nancy was really put through the blender in season 2.
