Force Seven

Wow!

Some of their attempts at backdoor pilots were pretty lame!

Well, at least Fred Dryer eventually got Hunter.

Worked for him.

watching this now, it just might be the dumbest CHiPs episode ever, which is saying something....

I know, these karate kooks who don't use guns are going to stop terrorists armed with automatic weapons and missiles?

And even David Hasselhoff was more badass as Nick Fury (that's right, The Hoff was Fury before Samuel L. Jackson) than Fred Dryer's Fury wannabe.

And really, those "uniforms"?

These guys make The A-Team look like The Dirty Dozen or the Impossible Missions Force.

Although to be fair, Howling Mad Murdock also had a sock puppet sidekick -- a superhero sock puppet sidekick. Plus, he also played musical instruments. Plus, he was also a psych ward resident.

As much as I'm a fan of CHiPs, there were quite a few silly episodes.

I love how they barely managed to squeeze Ponch and Jon into this episode at the beginning. And why are they called Force Seven if there's only four of them, five if you count the puppet? Even the K-9 episode was better than this piece o' crap. You get the feeling the producers of Chips knew their show was coming to an end, so they started brainstorming any possible idea for a spinoff.

Jon & Ponch along with Getraer appeared at the end as well. Must have been one of their shortest filming days ever.

I wondered about that as well. I saw a sign in the show that stated the force levels for police, and it used a semi-standard 1-6, with 1 being verbal and 6 being deadly.

Under this was a statement identifying "Force 7" as being the preservation of human life using the martial arts or something similar.

I'm thankful this failed since it was really crappy and since Fred Dryer was great in Hunter a few years later. Episodes like this one are why IMDB should offer a 0 rating, or perhaps up to a -10.

Dean: I am wearing sunglasses at night. You know who does that? No-talent douche bags!

What Force Seven really needed was Andy Macedon and Bonaduce.

I remember this episode. The guy who would become Ponch's new partner in Season 6 played the hot head cop who joins Force 7.

I thought he looked familiar.
