His singing just one song at his "concert" was one of many goofs in the episode. Re-watching these shows lets me see how poorly made they were. If you get a chance, check out the scene where "Ponch" and "Bobby" are riding up to escort Moloch's car. The actors riding the bikes look nothing like them, and their mouths were not moving when they were talking!
Dean: I am wearing sunglasses at night. You know who does that? No-talent douche bags!
LOL, great call on that scene with them riding into the concert. Ponch suddenly turned caucasian. Must be the work of Moloch! Also, as Moloch is leaving the stadium in his hearse, an old man protester runs out of the crowd. You hear a voice saying "Moloch is the devil's music! Let me at him! Let me at him!" The old geezer's mouth never moves! Good lord, this episode lives in infamy.
It wasn't just the writing, the production values on the show also crashed and burned. It's like everyone knew the ship was sinking and just said "who cares."
I've always laughed at that scene. But if you look at alot of the episodes in all of the seasons you will see the stunt doubles clearly doing scenes for Ponch and Jon and even Bobby.
Let's see...The Snoop Sisters got Alice Cooper to play a devil rocker. A few years later, Kiss makes a TV movie (Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park)...with this in mind, who do we.see playing the demonic rock star in this episode? None other than the American version of Olivier...wait for it...Donny Most!
Yep, the worst actor on Happy Days got cast as a devil rocker on CHiPs...no wonder people diss the final season...and don't get me started on the villain in this one!
I'm surprised that no one mentioned the really obvious goof. It's when Moloch is supposed to be listening to the tape and the cassette is in the ejected position, making it impossible for him to listen to it. Wait a minute... maybe this wasn't a goof... maybe it was deliberate... Let's see, he's hearing a demonic voice that he thinks is on the cassette tape, but the tape isn't actually in the player, so that means he was actually possessed by a demon? Is that what we're really supposed to think? Wow, that's fiendishly clever, I bet even Jonathan Nolan or Terry Gilliam couldn't have pulled something like that off...
