Loved Ponch's sunny, upbeat outlook, despite a a rough childhood, and how it juxtaposed well with John's gloomy realism. Funny scene:
John: [at Ponche's place] "Let's go out to get something to eat."
Ponch: "Why? We got food right here!" (holds up a can of tuna, can of beans and some hostess pies)
John: "Ah..."

Yeah, I did love how nothing got Ponch down for long. He had the biggest, whitest teeth and he loved to show them. Jon was the seasoned cop who was the one that Getrear always sent to people's homes after a traffic fatality because he was so sympathetic to the people.
