Extended scene S4E8 Wheels Of Justice

During the the final car chase scene, the cadillac crashes through some piled up trash and kills the driver's wife (sad ending).

I remember this episode when I was young; and that the scene was longer where the wreck was played in slo-mo. Currently, you only hear a scream and the next scene is the driver sitting in the car.

Does anyone else remember this and does anyone know why its been re-cut?

I don't know the reason this particular scene might have been re-cut, but sometimes footage is trimmed for syndication to make more time for more commercials.

Just watched it recently on the season 4 dvd and it's uncut just as you described it. If it was trimmed on MeTV or somewhere else then it's exactly because they want to show more commercials in syndication then when it was first broadcasted in 1981.
