A Star is Born--DVD-Well, WHEN???

Hey everybody-I've read all your postings and I am wondering the same thing-WHEN the heck is this going to come out on DVD? Someone said they talked to Kris Kristoferson's wife, and that she said it was up to Babs. Well, why would all these places be saying it was going to be released on DVD if she hasn't made up her mind yet? Does anybody know the date that this will be out? Also, is it possible to burn a DVD from a VHS tape? I WANT THIS ON DVD-tape quality sucks, but I am getting desparate. Renee

Streisand stated that her work (i.e., the commentary and supplemental stuff) was all finished for both A STAR IS BORN and YENTL but that she had no idea when the actually discs would be released. In other owrds, her statements gave the impression that it wasn't up to her.

Warner Bros. released a statement a few months age that the disc was definitely coming, but that the "authorization process" was taking a long time. I have no idea what is involved in the authorization process or why it is taking so long. Does anybody else know?

I have had this movie on order through Amazon.com for about 3 months now. I am still waiting. I understand the movie came out in 1976. Maybe they are waiting for the appropriate time to release it for the 30th anniversary? I cannot wait to get the movie.

That makes ALL of us, I bought a cheesy bootleg on EBAY just to hold me over and it's not even like what they're talking about here.
I dunno why the criticism of this movie are so like.....picky, I think ASIB is the best movie Babs has ever done! The only one I like equally as much is Prince Of Tides, the others to me are mediocre, to me Star even tops The Way We Were..but that's just my opinion.

I have been looking for this D.V.D. everywhere. I thought it would be released by now. I love the chemistry between Babs and Kris in this movie. It is one of the best love stories ever. Please let me know when it is released on DVD or VHS.

Region 1 DVD came out on November 28, 2006. I'd rather watch metal rust or wood petrify than see one single frame of this film, but because I'm a nice guy, I'll give you a URL:

Hey,

Accoring to Amazon the release date is Novenber 28th and you can pre-order. However, they posted a release date prior and it was changed. I grew up with my mother who lives Barbra Streisand and I grew to love her also. I have all her movies with the exception of this one on DVD. I am not ordering this until it is actually released.

One day before it is officially released (Tuesday, November 28th)

Best Buy here in Decatur, Illinois had two copies, and I snapped one up. . .

. . .they do that sometimes for the older titles. . .put 'em out a day or two early. . .

Bought Sybil and Valley of the Dolls like that. . .

What a story! Everything but the bloodhounds snappin' at her rear end.

It was actually just released officially on Dec. 12. I bought it at walmart.com for 14 bucks.
