Sparkle DVD anytime soon???
Does anybody know if they plan on releasing this on DVD anytime soon??

look on ebay. vhs copies are $9.99, i think they have new and used.
also dvd copies for $14.99. check it out!
The dvds on ebay are listed as imports, but it looks like someone just used a bad copy of a vhs and mass produced it on DVD. The dvd copy as I am told shows a very dark picture, have not gotten a difinitive word on the sound quality yet. As it stands now, Warner has not given any response as to if and when there will be an official USA Dvd copy of this movie, and it is a shame. This is the only movie that I don't have, which is one of the best among the best (along with "let's do it again", "claudine", "a piece of the action", "shaft", etc
shareIf this movie was on DVD, man it would be a great buy, IF and ONLY IF Warner Bros. does it RIGHT!
All this movie needs is just some digital remastering, maybe that can bring out all of those dark scenes in the movie, brighten them up a bit. The special features should include interviews, music (especially the cast performances of the songs, I like Aretha's versions, but the casts' vocals were cool too), maybe even some deleted scenes that might explain some things like where Delores ended up or maybe even Effie's convo with Mrs. Gerber in the kitchen (I can dream, can I?). Oh and how about an audio commentary with some of the cast members or a featurette.
Come on now, it's 30 years! Surely something must have come out by now!
I can see it now: SPARKLE- 30th Anniversary edition DVD or a 2-DVD set, complete with remastered film, audio commentaries, featurettes, deleted scenes, interviews, photos, etc.
I'll definitely be in line for this one. or what if it was re-released in theaters.....
