Then how old is Stix? Seemed he took advantage of a naive girl.

Well you know back in the day that was more accepted. My Grandma was 17 when she married my Grandpa who was 25. Today that wouldn't fly LOL.

He did, but I don't think he was supposed to be too much older. I always thought they he was about the same age as Sister and her boyfriend (in the beginning) and they seemed to be about 18/19 at the most. They didn't seem to be that far out of school to me if they were even out of school at all. But I don't believe they ever specified.

Philip Michael Thomas is ten years older than Irene Cara, but the character he plays in this movie is a teenager. So while it's true that it wasn't unusual back then for a teenager to date a man in his early 20s, in this case Stix is most likely only 17 or 18 at the most when Sparkle is 15.
