Saw this again for the first time since 1976
I remember liking it then and it holds up well.
Worth watching for Williamson's take on Holmes. He's a marvelous actor and brings a lot of credibility to anything he does. (his Hamlet isn't well liked by some but I enjoyed his performance.)
I agree with the criticism of Duval's accent. As good an actor as he is he misses badly on this one.
Olivier however excellent as Moriarity. Physically he is exactly what I picture the Professor to be.
One comment though is almost all films portray Holmes' rooms in Baker St as much grander than I imagine them. I think they would have been much more austere. Love looking at the Victoriana anyway though.
