Hi all
There is a scene in the movie where Clouseau goes to get in a taxi and someone has left their briefcase in it, as he takes the briefcase out of the car an assissin tries to stab him, but the knife goes into the breifcase.
It then looks like the assissin pulls the briefacse towards himself and stabs himself with the blade sticking out.
I don't get why the assissin would stab himself?
Can someone help,as it is really bugging me

Clouseau picks up the case from the back seat of the taxi as he goes to get inside, and turns to hand it back to the owner who'd just vacated the taxi. The hitman approaches to stab him, Clouseau turns and the hitman stabs the case - the owner of the case walks up to both of them and pulls the case to himself saying "that's my case" turning it around as he does so without realising the knife is in it - the hitman in his haste to retrieve the knife so he can kill Clouseau pulls the case back from the owner, not realising the blade now points to himself and stabs himself.
