Gunga Din Reference
Others have mentioned borrowing from other movies. I wonder if anyone noticed the line taken almost directly from Ginga Din. In Gunga Din the guru tells Cary Grant, Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and Victor McLaglen who think him insane, that he is in the tradition of the great warriors thought mad. He tells them that Hannibal was mad, Caesar was mad and Napoleon surely was the maddest of the lot. In this film Herbert Lom repeats the line substituting Alexander for Caesar.
Also one has to wonder why Lom's character is called Dreyfus, the name of the great French army officer who was falsely accused of treason by the government because of his Jewish heritage and later exonerated after spending years on Devil's Island.
