I was 6 years old when I saw this movie in the theatres. I remember being totally frightened when Dreyfuss eliminated the United Nations building.
Nowadays, when I see the scene on DVD I figure maybe getting rid of the UN might not be that bad an idea after all!!!!

Agreed. It's probably Dreyfus' most heroic moment.
When I saw this back in 1976 and Dreyfus said he would destroy the UN building, several people in the audience applauded.

I thought it was awesome. But it was Dreyfus' blinking eye being the last thing that dematerialized that freaked ME out! :D
