All previous efforts to remake/reboot The Pink Panther-series were utter hatchet-jobs, but since I saw Sacha Baron Cohen in Hugo I'd like to see him as Clouseau in a future endavour!!!
I miss the beloved character too much and the originals starring Peter Sellers are a bit dated although I still find 'm hilarious.
After the failure of Steve Martin's efforts I think it would be best to leave the Clouseau movies as they are. Some comedy classics can not be recaptured or repeated.

That is the ONLY way a reboot of this series will ever work, especially after the way Steve Martin took a steaming dump all over the character that Sellers so effortlessly created. SBC has also said in interviews that Sellers was his greatest inspiration in becoming an actor, so it would make perfect sense that SBC be the one to take up the mantle and do the character proper justice. But who would play Cato Fong, his raving Oriental lunatic manservant?!
