Yes you can. It's the funniest! And the plot lines are explained within so you will understand the opening scenes if you pay attention to the dialogue.

this film doesn't really have a place in the chronology of the others, anyway, so i'd even go so far as to say that it works BEST as a stand-alone...

but yeah, after seeing this one, you really ought to see the rest of the series... ;-)

The others are pretty good, but I prefer to just watch this one. It's the only one I remember watching as a child, and I usually consider it a stand-alone.
