I will admit....

Karen Black wears the hell out of a pair of jeans, she looks great. The acting was very good, except for Miss Blue Jeans, Black. Scary and creepy movie without guts and blood all over the place. Todays producers and movie makers should learn something from movies like this

Today's movie *watchers* should learn something from movies like this.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. This is my favorite film of all time and horror movies with such suspense and atmosphere like this are virtually nonexistent today. Horror fans should demand more movies similar in style to this one so we won't have to see so many films that are garbage. If we don't pay to see awful films, so many won't be made so ignoring bad films is the only way to ensure there will be good ones. I can't figure out why in the world the OP doesn't think Karen Black's performance is good, though. I thought it was amazing.

What? I think Black's performance is one of the best of 1976 and one of the best of all time, especially for a horror film, she was truly brilliant, the way she goes crazy and does the personality changes so perfectly, I would have given her an Oscar nomination over Talia Shire in Rocky without a doubt.

reply

yeah, black was excellent, specially for a cutie. of course reed and davis were the movie, but she was real effective.

I think the whole family was great. I feel they all had great onscreen chemistry and felt like a real family so the film was more authentic and effective because of that.

I have never seen this movie until today and I thought it was pretty good, but my main thought was how sexy I thought Black was and she did look great in those jeans. So about the ending, was the house haunted with the spirit of mother and it took over Black?

reply

......Too hard of work for the actors, producers and movie makers of today. It took an incredible amount of vision, focus and dedication to make this film work as it has.
