How much could Buttermaker have been getting paid?

What was it, about 15 games or so? And all those practices? That's a helluva lotta time. How much do you think a city councilman could have afforded to pay him? I don't think it would even meet minimum wage.

What about all the expenses? He's gotta take the kids out for pizza or burgers after every game. And he's gotta pay for all of Amanda's lessons, too? It seems like it would have ended up costing him money to be coach.

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

I think money was Buttermaker's motivation at first. But, after a couple of run in with Roy Turner it became something else. He wanted to beat the Yankees.
