Quentin Tarantino picked this for all time top ten!

For the Sight and Sound All Time Greatest Movies he picked the 1976 version of The Bad News Bears-

Right on! I'm surprised he picked it but it's completely worthy of being there. I remember when I went to see it as a kid being sort of shocked at how much the kids acted and talked just like the kids in my neighborhood in Aurora, Co. The film is totally un-pc by today's standards. Kids (probably around 10 years old) cursing like crazy, drinking beer, smoking and saying ni**er, sp*ck, and pansie. Walter Matthau even kind of smacks the kids around a little.

The Bad News Bears had great performances from Walter Matthau and Tatum O' Neil. Seriously, this is an all time powerful and beautiful scene-

TBNB has great themes about competition, race, and America without hitting you over the head about it.The film was made when America still had more of a *beep* Off attitude which is sadly dieing. Love the attitude at the end-

It's probably the greatest film about being a kid in America. If critics can praise the french 400 Blows as some great film about childhood why not praise The Bad News Bears.

Nice job with the pick Mr. Tarantino!

So many little moments that makes this a great film. I always loved when Matthau says, "you're acting like a bunch of babies!" I think he says this several times. In today's films, adults seem to worried about kids' self-esteem, it seems, to actually put them in their place and scold them in any meaningful way.

I can't stand that guy but at least he picked a winner in this gem of a film.
