I actually had a Little League coach in the 70s who

Would come barreling into the parking lot in his old pickup. When he opened the door, empty beer cans would come tumbling out. He'd sit on the bench during practice with a cold one resting on top of his huge beer gut. And he was an ex minor leaguer too.

We won more games that year than in any other year I played ball.

Boy, I miss the 70s! It was a much freer time!

Of course, I don't condone this kind of behavior, but the fact that he could do it and not be arrested for child abuse would be unheard of today! I remember all my coaches smoking cigarettes constantly back then, which has now somehow been deemed immoral behavior (and gang graffiti is seen as art! What an upside down world it has become, alas).

Well the logic there is that secondhand smoke is harmful and morons don't realize that building owners don't want gang members tagging their property. I'm not a smoker, never have been, but I occassionally enjoy the smell of cigarette smoke. For it to be a serious health hazard for me, I'd have to be indoors with a smoker, in close proximity to them, and be inhaling a lot.

It is an upside down world though, I agree. I was born in 89, so I honestly don't remember a time before political correctness, so I guess I'm used to it. I acknowledge the fact that you had it better than me, growing up though.
